Dr. Jon Southerland is a 1970 graduate of Oklahoma State University. He spent the three years following graduation working with Dr. Johnnie Remer in Fort Smith, Arkansas, before returning to his home town in Oklahoma to open the Rush Springs Veterinary Hospital. By 1977 Dr. Southerland had relocated to Sherwood, Arkansas, where he opened the Kiehl Avenue Animal Clinic. He has practiced at this same location since that opening date. A new facility specifically designed to be a veterinary hospital was completed on the lot adjacent to the original building in 2014.
