Dr. Jon Southerland is a 1970 graduate of Oklahoma State University. He spent the next three years working with Dr. Johnnie Remer in Fort Smith before returning to his home town to open the Rush Springs Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma. By 1977 Dr. Southerland had relocated to Sherwood,Arkansas and opened the Kiehl Avenue Animal Clinic and he practiced at this same location for 37 years A new facility specifically designed to be a veterinary hospital was completed on the lot adjacent to the original building in 2014.
